She is a Support Group Leader of a local NCPSG chapter (North County Parkinson Support Group) in Fallbrook, serves on the NCPSG Board of Directors, a mentor with PASD (Parkinsons Association San Diego) & a mentor with Rush University Lewey Body Dementia Caregiver Support Research Study program and speaker for PASD’s Good Start Program, focusing on newly diagnosed individuals with Parkinson’s and their Care Partners.
Irene was born in Japan and spent her formative years in Taiwan, Spain & Germany. After graduating from Taipei American School, she attended California State University in Fresno, California and earned her BA in Business.
She has a passion for people and her life mission to serve others. “I have experienced and learned much on this Parkinson’s journey. I compare the journey to a river. Early symptoms progress slowly, and life is smooth for the most part. The journey moves from calm waters to a running stream, eventually leading to rough currents and unexpected waterfalls. I have learned to be flexible, adapt and do all I can to prepare for what’s around the bend.”
